Biography

Zainab Bhindarwala joined Roumel Law as a full-time associate in September of 2025. Zainab works primarily on employment discrimination and other civil rights cases. She is licensed to practice in Illinois, the District of Columbia, and the federal courts in the Eastern and Western District of Michigan.

Zainab graduated from the University of Michigan Law School in 2024. As a law student, she honed her skills as a student attorney with the Workers’ Rights Clinic, the Juvenile Justice Clinic, and the Civil Rights Litigation Initiative. She also interned at Legal Aid Chicago and a workers’ rights firm and externed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

A native of Southeast Michigan, Zainab attended the University of Michigan for undergrad, making her a “Double Wolverine.” After obtaining her B.A. in Philosophy, Zainab spent two years as a paralegal at a firm in New York City, working primarily on prisoners’ rights cases. After law school, Zainab completed a Litigation Fellowship in Washington, D.C. where she advocated for clients on a variety of employment matters, including sexual harassment, discrimination, and whistleblower retaliation.

Zainab is excited to be back in her home-state and she is especially looking forward to visiting Michigan’s many cider mills in the fall. In her free time, you can find Zainab exploring her local farmer’s market, wandering through a bookstore, or working on her latest creative project.
